Rephresh Review

Sunday, January 4th, 2009 | Uncategorized

Rephresh Gel does several things. It gives you lubrication during sex, restores the vagina’s natural moisture and helps balance the PH in the vagina. An unbalanced PH can cause vaginal odor, and make you more prone to vaginal infections (yeast, bacterial, etc.) Rephresh comes in a pre-filled applicator in gel form, so you don’t have to deal with the mess of a cream. The applicator is simple to use. With clean hands, unwrap the package and shake the applicator a few times to help get the Rephresh heading towards the end of the tube. Shake it like you would a thermometer. Next, you twist the little cap off at the thin end of the applicator. You may be able to see tiny bit of Rephresh seeping out the end. Then you grasp the applicator by the thick end and either lie on your back with your legs up or stand and slightly squat. Insert the applicator into the vagina as far as it is comfortable and squeeze the thick end of the applicator to release the Rephresh in to the vagina. Then you thrown the applicator away and go about your business, whether it be sleeping or starting your day.

I swear by this product. I stopped using Replens because I found Rephresh.  I use Rephresh Gel every three days as directed. I prefer to use mine at bed time, just because I feel it’s more effective that way. Although I think that is just a habit from all the yeast medicines I’ve been on because they always say use them at night. Others prefer to use it when they wake up, or just before a shower, so it’s really just personal preference.  I wouldn’t recommend doing your application of Rephresh right before your getting ready to have sex. I’ve found it to be a little too gooey when done right before you have sex. Right after sex is OK, but I prefer to wait a few hours after sex if my husband has ejaculated inside of me. It works great with other lubricants as well, if you need additional lubrication during sex. For the first month or so, you may experience some residue from the Rephresh in your underwear and during sex. I did. It looks like white clumps and is usually only noticeable on the day after my application. Once I got on a regular schedule of using it every three days for about a month, I didn’t have the residue anymore. They say it is dead skin sells from your vagina. Rephresh recommends that if it still continues after a month or so, then maybe try going longer between each application.

I would not recommend using Rephresh Gel during your period. It will just cause the blood to come out in clumps and make a big mess. I usually use Rephresh a few days before the start of my period and a day or two after my period has completely stopped. The main selling point for me with Rephresh is the fact that if I feel slightly itchy down there like there may possibly be a yeast infection coming on, Rephresh seems to take care of it. This is especially helpful for me right after my period when I am most prone to yeast infections. It also seems to help when my bladder feels irritated like I might be getting a urinary tract infection. Rephresh has done wonders for me. I really feel like it helps keep the vaginal infections at bay.

It’s also safe to use during oral sex. It doesn’t contain spermicides, so it shouldn’t be used as a method of birth control. Also, it should not be used to treat an existing vaginal infection. It’s more of a preventative measure. It can be purchased at most drugstores as well as places like Wal-Mart and Target and is usually in the section with pads, tampons, yeast creams, pregnancy tests, etc. Rephresh costs around $18.99 for a box, which comes with 4 pre-filled applicators. A little pricey, but well worth it. I prefer to buy mine online. It seems to be cheaper online and some places also offer free shipping. Plus, I prefer the privacy of having it shipped.

this is my first time using rephresh as recommended by my doctor because of yeast infection. my treatment is coupled with 1 dose of diflucan.

i’ve applied rephresh and taken diflucan 2 days ago. however, i’m still feeling the burning sensation. when i had yeast infection last year, i felt relief on the 2nd day with just the diflucan.

is the burning sensation normal? i plan to stop it’s use if i do not feel any relief by tomorrow.

so the white clumps are rephresh residue. i thought, it was yeast infection. :)

Yup, the white clumps are residue from the Rephresh. The burning however, is not normal. Perhaps the Diflucan is not strong enough. In the past, I had an infection that Diflucan did not clear up and I needed something stronger. You may want to give your gyno a call and let him/her know you’re still feeling discomfort. Hope you get some relief soon!

I used rephresh for the first time. Once I finished the 12 day supply, if missed one day. However, the very next day I got another dosage. Two days later I had a bad yeast infection. Shoul I continue using the product ?

Is it good to use Rephresh with an active yeast infection?

I had Bacterial Vagenousous and my doctor perscribed me suppositories that were suppose to clear it up. Well about a week later the symptoms came back and I went back to the doc. and he said the bv was gone but b/c of it I had a ph inbalance. He told me to use Replens, but after reading this and researching more about Rephresh I think I might go out and buy this product instead. Same concept just different brand. I’ll let ya know how it goes.

I’m so happy I found this post. I used RepHresh a couple days ago. When I woke up this morning and wiped myself I saw some medium sized white clumps. At first I thought it was tissue, then I realized it was discharge. I freaked out a little bit but after reading this, I feel a lot better. They should really put that info in the insert. Walmart is the best place to purchase RepHresh. I was able to get it for $12 and there’s also a $1 coupon included in the box for your next purchase.

I just used the rephresh and am experiencing cramps now. I don’t know if its because of my mirena or what my husband even suggested it may be because my Ph was way off. I’m confused.

I can’t tell you how THRILLED I am to have found Rephresh. I had Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) and went to the doc. She prescribed Metrogel, which cleared it up, but I was so nervous about smelling every time I had sex. Any odor at all, no matter how faint, made me wonder if BV was coming back. Even though my husband assured me it smelled great (lol), I was so self-conscious. Ever since finding Rephresh, I am 100% confident. Whatever odor there was, imagined or real, is gone. I’m starting my second month using Rephresh and the white clumps have completely subsided. This product has been a godsend for me. If you’ve suffered from BV, my advice is, give it a try. You have nothing to lose. It gave me my confidence back. I LOVE it.

OMG. I’m so glad to find this post as well! I’ve been really struggling with a combination of BV and Yeast Infections over and over again. I finally had a 6 week treatment from my dr, one pill a week, of diflucan (I think) and creams, and inserts…I finally found that 1) I needed to change my soap to a more gentle brand. Dove has been great and 2) Refresh is amazing! I’m also very conscious of the smell but Refresh has helped clear this up also. I don’t use it all the time because I hate to be dependent on anything but changing my soap has really contributed. Just wanted to share that in case anyone was using a harsh body wash that may be counter effective to Refresh’s efforts.

Rephresh is a life saver. I used to get bacterial vaginosis on a regular basis and once I started using the product I haven’t had it since.

I am so glad I found this product. For the last 6 years I had been suffering from a fishy smell. I went to every doctor and they never found any infection. Took many antibiotics that worked for a short period of time. I was so embarrassed when my husband wanted to have sex with me because I was self councious of the horrible odor but since I found Rephresh it has helped me and I do not have any discharge or fishy odor. I am so pleased with it and would recommend to anyone suffering from that fishy nasty discharge.

I’ve had BV three times in 4yrs. Ive been with my bf for 5 now. I have it again and started doing home remidies instead of going to the gyno. Well the home remiedies either worked or went away on its own. I had a gyno appointment yesterday for my annual. She recommened I use rephresh. My question is after looking into it.. do I need to depend on it forever? Or does it work like when I can smell the horrid BV smell I can use it for the 3 days and stop? We had sex last night and mind you I thought my bv went away 3 weeks ago and Im smelling it today… ugh

I just used my 2nd dose last night. I dont think I used it right the first time. I shaked it like it was a thermometer but I dont think all the rephresh went down into the bottom because I still had a slight oder on day 3. Last night I made sure I shaked it a lil longer.. but after I put it in it still felt heavy. I squeezed a lil and more came out.. so I had to re-shake it and do it again. Today I have alot of thick white discharge and its clumpy. Im guessing its the dead cells since thats what everyones saying but its alot! For a moment I thought maybe I started my period and I didnt know it because it was that wet feeling in my undies. Is that how it normally is?

I’m writing back with more info since I last posted in April to hopefully answer some question. I have been using Rephresh only on an as-needed basis. When I first started using it I was very regular about it, but now I use it only after having sex, but sometimes I forget. Last night was the first time since early this year that I thought I noticed a smell again, so I used Rephresh for the first time in probably a month or more. This morning I did have a little bit of white discharge but not horrible. The smell is better and will hopefully be gone within a day or two, but I will probably use another dose in 3 days just to be sure. Then I will go back to using it maybe once or twice a month as needed or just after sex.

I used it just to try it instead of the Azo yeast pills n was sooo shocked. My boyfriend went wild that night during sex. He absolutely loved it. He said I was so wet n moist inside it was unbelievable. I never told him that I used the gel but it was a God sent. It’s keeping me infection free n enhanceing my sex life. Can’t get no better. :-)

Thanks for the helpful info. I have been getting BV frequently too. So I will be sure to stop by store tomorrow to purchase. I thought by using the cream prescribed by doctor would take care of it, but I am noticing the odor again. Thanks, I will update you all later.

Anyone notice a burning/uncomfortableness the first time they used it? I used it for the first time last night and I’ve had a slight burning/uncomfortable feeling all day and night. I also have had the white clumpy discharge. Just wondering if I should continue or just stop, given the symptoms…may not be the best product for me. Thoughts?

I have been struggling with BV for a while now. The doctor says my pH is what causing the excessive discharge. What the doctor prescribes doesn’t help with the discharge which is really noticeable during sex. Will repHresh help those who do not have a wetness problem?

I had BV for quite a few months without knowing about it. When I finally got diagnosed, I’d also had a UTI along with it. But ever since clearing up the BV, I’ve had chronic dryness, which drives me nuts. Does Rephresh help to restore natural lubrication at all? Like will I go back to being wet all the time like I used to be?

I am having discharge and the odor but I am 3 and half months pregnant. Has anyone used it while being pregnant? I use to get BV Quite frequently before pregnancy. Bring pregnant the smell is so strong to me. I really want to try rephresh while pregnant to restore my Ph balance.

I have suffered with BV for years!!! My ob/gyn even suggested a week vinegar/water solution for douching with but even that doesn’t keep the ph imbalance at bay. Per my MD the imbalance is hormonal as well as my husband’s ejaculate. Men are very alkaline and things down there tend to prefer a little acidity.

I have used rephresh in the past and really was unconcerned with the white clumps as well…but I always knew there was no infection present. Glad someone finally said what it was.

For Ruby’s question above….rephresh is perfectly safe during pregnancy. I believe it’s even mentioned in the pamphlet.

I’m so glad to have found this product. I have used probiotics, forced my husband to pull out, vinegar and water, everything….but my bv is a cyclic issue…knowing exactly when I typically have an imbalance (one week before my period)helps me avoid any discomfort now as I can use a tube of rephresh, deal with the clumpy discharge the next day and be symptom free. It’s a beautiful thing!!!

I am soooooo happy I came across this review and the comments that followed! As many of the other females here I also suffer from BV.. It’s the most annoying and embarrassing issue ever. I saw the commercial for Rephresh a few months ago and finally decided to purchase it today. I’m on my cycle presently but once it’s done I will be trying out this product. I can’t wait. Hope it works for me.
